Hey there people? How are you doing?

Just a quick question, if i were to travel to the states on holidays where would you recommend to visit. I would definitely be on the East coast, and probably 60% chance of going to the West coast as well.

Where have you visited yourselves in the States, whats good?

I've been all over the US -- if you are traveling to the East Coast, I'd recommend D.C. (a lot to see, a lot to do, and a decent transit system to get you everywhere.) New York is an obvious choice -- and if you've never been there, I'd highly recommend it, though it can be expensive. Boston is another great city to explore, though I'm not sure I'd recommend it in the winter -- Cape Cod, Massachusetts in the spring/summer is another good choice (and can be tied into a trip to Boston). If you aren't much of a city person and would like to see some of the natural beauty of the US, and still want to stay on the coast, I'd consider going to some coastal cities like Charleston, SC , Outer Banks, NC, or Savannah, GA. Charleston is my favorite out of the three, with the Outer Banks following closely behind. Or you could take a trip to the mountains (especially if you are traveling in the fall) to Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley (some nice US history is in this area, along with several wineries/vineyards, orchards, and historical places like Monticello, Montpelier, and Ash Lawn (three homes of 3 early US Presidents). Tennessee is another beautiful state, and Gatlinburg is a beautiful area, though I think I might have spelled it wrong.

As for the West coast, if you are traveling to California, I know everyone wants to go to LA, but my favorite California city is San Francisco -- I think it's the prettiest out of all of them. I lived in San Diego for awhile, and I still would recommend San Francisco, especially for a first time visitor. Napa Valley is beautiful, though I'm not sure what it's current condition is due to the fires this past year. V. Sattui winery is the best place to do wine tasting, in my opinion. I found Napa to be just as beautiful as some of the vineyards in Tuscany. Traveling down the coast of California (Big Sur, etc) is also pretty cool. Seattle is one of my favorite cities in the US, and coming from Ireland, you might recognize the weather there Smile

But, my favorite US city of all time -- is Vegas. I know many people will disagree with me here, but there you have it. Smile
